When your smart TV suddenly stops connecting to your WiFi network, don’t panic.
But don’t be alarmed.
Fortunately, there are a few easy actions you can do to go back to enjoying your favorite episodes and movies.
Your TV won’t connect to WiFi, so what should you do?
To get your smart TV connected to WiFi, here are a few quick and easy activities you may perform:
- For at least a minute, unplug your router/modem.
- Reconnect the router/modem to its power supply.
- Take some time for the router/modem to connect with the internet.
- Make an attempt at re-wiring your smart TV.
Unplugging your router/modem usually fixes the problem, but if it doesn’t, try these other options:
Find out whether it’s your router or modem that’s the issue
Try connecting additional wireless devices to rule out your router/modem as the cause of the issue.
Choose a device that is within a reasonable distance of your modem/router and your smart television.
A smart TV is the most probable culprit if this device (like your smartphone or laptop) is able to connect to your modem/router without trouble.
Your modem/router should be repaired or you should contact your router/modem manufacturer for assistance if additional devices are unable to connect to WiFi.
Connect one of your devices to your WiFi network and then reconnect it if other devices are obviously operating and are linked to your WiFi.
There might be an issue with the WiFi network and password you’re currently using.
If that’s the case, you can be certain the problem is with your TV.
Reseting the modem/router
Your router and modem need to be connected to the internet in order to function properly.
Check your modem and router’s owner’s handbook or contact your manufacturer if you don’t know how to make these connections yourself.
You may be able to find the model as well as how to reset or connect it by doing a simple Google search.
A paperclip or safety pin is usually required to push and hold in the little button. Resetting the router/modem in this way restores it to its factory configuration.
You’ll need to re-configure your WiFi and reconnect all of your devices if you do this.
Double-check the WiFi password you’ve entered

A VPN may be used in a variety of ways, but if you’re a little more tech-savvy, I’d suggest giving it a go.
Smart TVs, on the other hand, do not accept proxies or dialup connections.
Those are still around, aren’t they? Even in the 21st century, some individuals are still utilizing dial-up internet.
I’m guessing that individuals don’t have a smart TV, but that’s just my opinion…
5GHz vs 2.4GHz
If your modem supports 5GHz, make sure your television does as well.
Occasionally, your smart TV won’t connect to the 5GHz band, but it will connect to the 2.4GHz frequency with no trouble.
Let’s see if switching to the 2.4 GHz band helps.
If you don’t have a lot of other devices that are connected to the 2.4GHz network, speed and loading time shouldn’t be a problem on this lower band.
As many routers as possible may be connected.
If your modem has a limit number of connections, be sure you haven’t reached it, even if it’s very improbable.
Nowadays, the vast majority of routers are capable of supporting up to 250 simultaneous connections, but if you’re using an old router with a hard limit, you may be out of luck.
Again, it’s not a widespread problem, but we’re at the bottom of the barrel with this discussion.
Instructions unique to the brand
Assuming you’ve made it here, presumably you’ve got one of the following smart TVs.
If this is the case, follow the steps below for your individual smart TV brand to reestablish your WiFi connection.
TV won’t connect to WiFi on Samsung
Make Sure Your TV’s Network is Connected to the Router/Modem.
Follow these actions to accomplish this goal:
Select Settings from the Home button on your remote.
- Then click on the Network Setup option.
- To check the state of your network, click View Network Status. Press the Enter key.

- Finally, take a look at your reception. Your television may not be able to connect if the router/modem is too far away. The router’s connection has been lost if the strength reading is negative (-).
When all else fails, you may connect your TV directly to your network via LAN cable.
Not connecting to WiFi on Android TV
Time and place the event
- You may access your TV’s settings by clicking on the menu button at the top right of the screen.
- You may change the date and time by clicking on “Preferences.”
- When setting the date and time, choose “Automatic.”
- Auto-sync is the option you should choose.

Forget your network password if you are already connected but don’t have a way to access the internet. Connect to the internet by reactivating and reactivating your WiFi connection.
